A Typical Day
Cooking classes take place on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10.00am to 4.00pm. We also offer occasional evening 'tasters'.
Each day will include the demonstration of a number of dishes (and the chance to eat them!) as well as hands-on preparation of a dish to take home. With numbers limited to only nine or ten people, you will have an enjoyable and relaxing experience in an informal and friendly atmosphere with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and get involved. At the end of the day you will have learned new skills, learned how to prepare and use new ingredients, and developed a wider understanding of the wonderful art of cooking and entertaining. Hopefully you will also have made some new friends!
Included in the course fee are all ingredients, a complimentary glass of wine with your lunch, and a folder for you to take home with the recipes and techniques used during the day.
Let us treat you and your friends to a special day
If it’s someone’s birthday, or maybe they’re getting married, why not treat them (and yourself) to a special day? You can either choose from one of the courses listed, or we can do something unique just for you. Call or email Yelly and we’ll do our best to make it a wonderful day to remember.
Typical course schedule
10.00 - 10.30 - Arrival and welcome, with freshly made coffee and home made cakes and biscuits. (Well, you have to keep your strength up!)
10.30 - 1.00pm - Detailed demonstration of dishes, with full discussion of ingredients and techniques.
1.00 - 2.00pm - Lunch: eating the dishes that were demonstrated accompanied by a nice glass of wine. Time to relax and enjoy time together. More coffee!
2.00 - 4.00pm - Demonstrations and hands-on activity, preparing a dish to take home using some of the techniques learned earlier.
Throughout the day informal questions and discussion are encouraged. If you are staying with us (or elsewhere in the village) you can relax and enjoy yourself, or visit the two pubs in the village to round off the day. We can also give you plenty of ideas of places to visit or eat out in the area, as well as stunning local walks. Don’t forget to bring your walking boots!
